Before doing anything else try and soak up any remaining milk from the carpet using a clean towel.

Treat silk garments with dr beckmann stain devils tea. Leave the baking soda overnight. A clean sponge can be used as an alternative for a clean cloth. This will just move the liquid around and increase the surface area of the stain.
